Today I finally got into the part of Texas that has trees! This helped me out a lot as the wind has been blowing into my face a lot the past few days, but when you have trees by the side of the road, they help block the wind so it doesn’t push against you as much. There are live oak trees (a kind of oak tree that likes to grow sideways and up) and also what I think are mesquite trees. I ended up in the city of Uvalde, TX today. Mr. Martinez of the MTZ RV park kindly let me set up my tent at his park and camp for free. It is great to have kind people on the way. Also, while I was eating a big burrito for lunch in the city of Bracketville, a nice man next to me talked to me and asked me questions about my ride. It is nice to have people to talk to when you get where you’re going every day, as it can get lonely on the road. Tomorrow I have a long ride up to Canyon Lake (north of San Antonio) to visit my friends the Gulleys. I haven’t seen them in 11 years so I’m definitely looking forward to it.

Enjoy the pictures!
