Day 30(7): Opp, AL to Bainbridge, GA

Today I was up for an early start (just before 2 o’clock in the morning!) There was a little rain but I didn’t get too wet. I went around the city called Enterprise, Alabama and then through Dothan, Alabama. There were a lot of cars on the road in Dothan so I found another way to go through it that got me away from most of the cars. After a while I crossed the Chattahoochee river into the state of Georgia. Cherry Chicken and I stopped at a gas station and I got a picture of her at the sign there. I got to my campground around 1pm and found a place to eat lunch. Then it started raining! I’m glad I missed the rain.

I probably won’t be making a recording of Jenny’s Journey from Georgia. I wasn’t even planning on coming through here originally, and I’ll be leaving tomorrow. It’s more important right now that I get plenty of rest.

Let me tell you about the pictures from today:

These pictures are of the Chattahoochee river and the bridge going over it. The Chattahoochee bridge separates the southern part of Alabama from the southern part of Georgia. Before I crossed it I was in Alabama; after I crossed it, I was in Georgia:

This is how many miles I had logged just before leaving this morning. It’s missed about 7 miles due to some problems but overall it’s pretty close:

These are my last pictures of Alabama before I left it into Georgia:

These are pictures of Cherry Chicken and I at the Georgia state line. What letters do you see? Which sign do you think is for the Chattahoochee river and which one do you think says Georgia State Line?

I took Cherry Chicken’s picture in front of a sign telling people about the chicken they’re serving at the gas station. Do you think she’s angry at me for doing that?

This was a tree at that gas station, in Georgia:

This was a funny road sign:

They had special vehicles out on the railroad today. They were dumping new white rock onto the ground around the tracks. Why do you think railroad tracks always have white rocks on/under them?

Water tower in Iron City, GA. Zoom in and see what letters you see.

Have a great day, everyone! I’m planning on riding into Florida tomorrow!
