This morning when I was riding along near the little tourist town of Round Top, I came upon a little Catholic Church in Hallettsville that claims to be the smallest Catholic Church in the world. They have Mass there once per month, and they pray for all the people who sign the book that’s inside. I signed the book for them to pray for me. Here are some pictures from inside. Which parts of it do you like the best? Do you prefer little churches like this or great big churches like (here’s one some of my students might know) St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette, IN?
There were a lot of antique shops in Round Top, which is the town close to where the little Catholic Church was. They have a lot of interesting signs. Here is one of them—they made letters using tires! What letters do you see? Can you think of anything else besides tires that YOU could make letters with?
I have had some wonderful people help me out today. When I was eating my dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Navasota earlier, someone was nice enough to pay for my meal. I’m also staying at the Pit Stop RV Park here in Anderson, TX. I offered to pay but the owners were very kind and said that I could stay for free since I am traveling by bicycle. I’ve been able to get a shower and do some laundry and I feel much better. I’m setting up my tent in a few minutes and looking forward to some sleep! Can you think of anything that someone has done for you lately that you are thankful for—something that really made you happy? I’m glad that there are so many kind people in the world—I know that you can be a kind person like that, if you want to be. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I’m sorry there aren’t more—I made a mistake and deleted some of the pictures that I took this morning.
