Last night before camping I crossed into a new state: New Mexico! What letters do you recognize on the sign? The word starting with N is “New” and the word starting with M is “Mexico.” Do you see any other letters you know?
Today I also crossed over the Continental Divide. The continental divide is a place where water that falls on one side of it eventually goes into the Pacific Ocean (which is next to California) and water that falls on the other side of it eventually goes into a big part of the Atlantic Ocean called the Gulf of Mexico (which is near Florida).
I don’t have a lot of time to write this evening, other than that New Mexico is a cool state with dusty skies at times. It has some cool plants, too. Which of the plants below do you like?
I also am very close to Mexico, which is a different country from ours, When I was riding to Columbus on Highway 9 I took some pictures that have mountains in Mexico in the background.
I hope you’ll also look at the pictures that have signs in them, especially if you were in my class. You can ask a grown-up to read the signs to you. One of them will have a special word in it that will mean a lot to the kids in my class!
Tomorrow I’m riding towards El Paso and will cross over into Texas! It should be a shorter day so I’m hoping to have more time to write. Have a great evening, everyone!
